BACKGROUND:
Chromium carbide is a very hard refractory ceramic material. Usually processed by sintering, it is a gray powder with an orthorhombic crystal structure.

CHROMIUM CARBIDE POWDER APPLICATIONS:
Chromium carbide can be used as a thermal spray material for protecting the underlying metal surface. It is also an additive to corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant materials. It is highly corrosion-resistant and does not oxidize. Some of the major applications include:

COATINGS AND SEALS
It is used in seals, orifices, coatings of bearings and valve seals. They provide hard, wear resistant coatings to parts that need protection.
