CHROMIUM TRIOXIDE APPLICATIONS:
Chromium trioxide is used as an intermediate in chromium plating, and is also used in glazes and colored glass. It can also be used to brighten raw brass. Some of the major applications include:

Chromium Plating
Chromium trioxide is used in chromium plating for decorative purposes, or corrosion resistance.

Band Instrument Repair
A chromic acid dip gives raw brass a bright yellow patina. It has been commonly used in the band instrument repair industry.
