6061 Aluminum alloy is a hardened aluminum alloy with 0.8 - 1.2% magnesium, and 0.4 - 0.8% silicon as its major constituents. Due to its good corrosion resistance, it is used in automotive chassis, and wings and fuselages on small aircraft.
