Product Description
GE 101 is a grayish-white, lustorus, brittle metalloid. Germanium improves the strength of alloys, transistors and semiconductors. Using germanium instead of silicon as transistor material would enable faster chips containing smaller transistors because higher switching speeds than in silicon could be achieved using germanium. Germainium is used as a semiconductor in electronic devices such as infrared optics, LED's, solar cells and fibre optics.
