Product Description
Niobium is a light grey, crystalline, transition metal. It is also know as Columbium (Cb). It has a hardness that is similar to titanium. It is used in various Super-Conducting alloys, (along with titanium and tin). Niobium metal powder is widely used in the production of magnets, MRI scanners, welding, nuclear industries, electronics and optics. Niobium Super-Alloys to produce jet engine components, gas turbines, rocket assemblies and other heat resistant equipment. The Gemini Program used a superalloy containing 5% niobium in their advanced air fram systems, and another was used for the nozzle of the Apollo Service Module.
