Product Description
Crystalline Boron BO 101 is a very hard, black material. It is highly reactive and soluble in concentrated nitric and sulfuric acids but insoluble in water, alcohol and ether. It has a high neutro absorption capacity. Boron is often used as a neutron absorber in reactor controls, as well as in rocket propellant mixtures. It can also be used to coat tungsten wires or as fillaments in composites with metals or ceramics. Boron is frequently used in spcial purpose alloys to harden other metals, specifically high-temperature brazing alloys.
